Led by Santyna of The Witch’s Therapist, this gathering is rooted in her ancestral relationship with Sanātana Dharma - a pre-colonial sacred way of life, prayer, and practice that many people today encounter through the language of “Hinduism.” This gathering is an intentional blessing of the space.
Together, we will gather in puja and meditation, calling on Ganesha to remove obstacles and welcome in a new beginning, Lakshmi to bless the cottage with abundance and beauty, and Kali Ma for fierce protection, justice, discernment, and cutting through illusion.
This gathering will also mark the beginning of an ancestor altar within the cottage: a space for devotion, remembrance, lineage, and the presence of those who protect and walk with us.
Santyna will provide all ritual items, including rose water, rice, milk, sugar, salt, fruit, and chuni/head coverings. Guests are invited to bring an ancestral object, symbol, or offering to place on the altar in honour of their lineage, healed ancestors, or sacred traditions as well as any object they wish to leave on the ancestor altar. Those that remain will be tended to at The Witch’s Cottage regularly by the team and community members as desired and can be removed at any time.

Join Maggie of The Witch’s Therapist for the grand opening ritual on March 20th at 6:30pm-8:00pm.
This ritual will open with a land acknowledgement, honoring the original stewards of this land and the living spirit of the place that holds us. From there, we will call in the elements and the guiding forces that walk beside us, inviting their presence as we weave the sacred container for this gathering.
Once the circle has been opened and the container established, each participant will be invited to step forward and share who they are and what has called them to offer their presence and energy to this grand opening ritual.
When all voices have been heard, we will enter into a period of quiet meditation, grounding ourselves and arriving fully in the present moment. From this centered place, each person will be invited to speak their intentions and desires for the future of this space and to light a candle in offering.
As each of the twelve candles is lit, the intentions of those gathered will begin to weave together, forming a living tapestry of vision and possibility. When the twelve flames are burning, a thirteenth candle will be lit at the center—a source flame that will serve as the hearth of this space, the fire from which all future candles will be kindled.
We will then raise energy together through music and sound, allowing the vibration to move through our bodies and flow outward into the walls, the floor, and the spirit of this place. In this way, the energy we create tonight will be seeded into the foundation of the space, carrying forward and growing with every gathering, every prayer, and every moment of presence that unfolds here.
Participants will be connected with prior to the ritual by Maggie to discuss their intentions and commitment.
On March 22, 2026 you are warmly invited to join us at 6:30pm-9:30pm for an in-person Ostara ritual honoring the Spring Equinox, a time of balance, renewal, and emergent life. As day and night stand in equal measure, we gather to root ourselves in practices of decolonization, anti-oppression, and ecological reverence.
Ostara marks the stirring of the soil, the return of light, and the sacred invitation to begin again. In this ritual space, we will explore renewal not only as a seasonal shift, but as a collective commitment: to unlearning systems of harm, tending just relationships, and nurturing reciprocal connection with the land.
