The Witch’s Therapist Bear Moon Newsletter (February 2026)

Hello, witches & other wonderful folks!

Welcome to the Bear Moon newsletter from The Witch’s Therapist, your centre for spiritual therapy in London Ontario.

Andrew here.

I know the word “witch” is traditionally associated exclusively with women for a lot of folks, so you may be a little surprised to see me around here.

I honour that.

I consider it a gift and a blessing to be in spaces like this, and I don’t take it lightly.

I especially don’t take it lightly in the wake of men continuing to be revealed in the Epstein files.

The Epstein files exemplify how patriarchy protects men from consequences, normalizes harm, and enforces silence.

It’s what life looks like without accountability.

Seeing that laid bare forces me to ask myself a hard question once again.

What does it mean to gather men in a culture like this?

Our Ritual Room at The Witch’s Therapist ready for an upcoming meeting of Into the Open: A Circle of Men.

When I started doing men’s work and running men’s circles, I had a lot of fear.

I was worried that women and other folks would be convinced that I’d be running a toxic misogyny club.

I was worried that I’d validate or enable harmful behaviours.

I was worried that I’d deny my responsibility for equity and undoing patriarchy and male privilege.

Honestly, I was and am willing to accept those projections with compassion, curiosity, and patience.

But you know what really surprised me?

The responses I’ve gotten from women and people of other genders have been heartwarming and delightful.

I’m hearing from so many of you that you have men in your lives who’ve been looking for a good place to land.

A partner, husband, brother, friend, in-law, cousin, colleague, etc.

I’m grateful to know so many men are looking for something like a men’s circle, or a healthier model of masculinity, and that you see such a deep need for this kind of work in our communities.

Bless you folks.

I see it too, and that’s why I’m so committed to this work.

Women shouldn’t have to bear sole responsibility for men.

For the harm we cause, for our need to learn and grow and be in connection, for becoming more accountable, and for learning to clean up when we mess up.

Goodness knows you have enough to carry as it is.

So that’s a big part of how I see my responsibility here: to help men become healthier so that everyone else benefits, too.

And because healing is relational, we need circles now more than ever.

Circles with supportive listening and co-creating experiences together with mutual respect, clear agreements and accountability… and some creative ritual to really empower it all.

The Role of Ritual

Lately, I’ve been thinking more and more about the role of ritual in both inner and community work.

I’m an atheist, and I don’t believe in magic in a literal sense, but it’s important to me to be in community with others who do.

As a result, I find creative ways to phrase and invite us to participate in circle and in ritual together, in a way that honours and holds space for all of our beliefs and interpretations of the universe.

Taking responsibility for radical inclusivity has powerfully deepened my own practice and enriched my capacity to connect with others across differences.

I think community necessarily involves being in relationship with others unlike us.

Ritual can help us delve more deeply into that.

It can help us connect more powerfully with our deepest selves and with others in compassionate, supportive ways.

We’re past the Winter Midpoint, Imbolc, and just over four weeks away from Spring Equinox, Ostara.

What rituals and community connections are helping you survive and thrive in the depths of Winter?

Ostara Public Ritual
London, Ontario
You are warmly invited to an in-person Ostara ritual honouring the Spring Equinox, a time of balance, renewal, and emergent life.

As day and night stand in equal measure, we gather to root ourselves in practices of decolonization, anti-oppression, and ecological reverence.

Ostara marks the stirring of the soil, the return of light, and the sacred invitation to begin again.

In this ritual space, we will explore renewal as a seasonal shift and a collective commitment to unlearning systems of harm, tending just relationships, and nurturing reciprocal connection with the land.
